Duo Alwa

Piano & Flute

We are two professional musicians, graduates of EAFIT University, with the intention of performing the chamber music repertoire for flute and piano. We have selected four pieces from the first half of the 20th century. In these works, the composers represent the nationalist development of the major interpretive and stylistic schools of flute music in the West. While the flute plays a leading role in this repertoire, it is highly demanding and expressive for both instruments. At the end of this selection, we have included a Colombian piece by an anonymous composer, arranged and adapted by Duo Alwa.

Piano. Maya García.

She participated in the Rebecca Penneys Piano Festival in 2013 and 2014 in Tampa, Florida. In 2014, she completed her professional practice project at Eastern Michigan University, studying under the supervision of Dr. Joel Schoenhals.
